    Your day-by-day plan

    1. 1

      Harbor & Blue Hour

Morning:Golden hour at Norriego Point: jetties, emerald shallows, and pass traffic for foreground interest.

      On the water:Marina Park

Afternoon:Scout the Harbor Boardwalk and shoot the 3:30-5 pm catch unloading (ask before portraits; deckhands usually love it).

      Lunch:Dawn's Cafe

Evening:Sunset from the HarborWalk Adventures Zip Line towers area, then stay for blue hour over the harbor lights, the money shot. Summer fireworks nights add a whole second card of keepers.

Family fun:Emerald Coast Mirror Maze & Laser Craze

Insider Tip:Destin's water reads most "emerald" mid-morning with sun behind you. Polarizer non-negotiable.

    2. 2

      The 30A Architecture Run

Morning:Alys Beach white walls at soft morning light, the most photographed courtyards in Florida for a reason.

Breakfast & coffee:Skippers Dock Seafood Market & Steam Machine

Afternoon:Seaside's beach pavilions (each one a different frame), the pastel cottages of Grayton, and a dune-lake outfall if Western Lake is breaching.

      Lunch:Commelfo Restaurant

Evening:Golden hour in the Grayton Beach State Park dunes, then long-exposure surf after sundown.

      Dinner:Outcast Bar & Grill

Insider Tip:Shoot Alys before 9 am; after that it's a permit-free portrait convention. Note that some 30A communities restrict commercial shoots. Personal work is fine, but client work may need permission.

    3. 3

      Aerial-Look Finale

Morning:Sunrise at the Okaloosa Island Pier: leading lines, fishermen silhouettes, and the clearest water angles on the coast. (Check local drone rules before flying; much of the shoreline has restrictions near Eglin airspace.)

      Breakfast & coffee:3rd Cup

Afternoon:Crab Island by morning pontoon for the boat-flotilla-on-teal shot, or a helicopter tour if the budget says yes.

On the water:La Dolce Vita Watersports - Seascape Beachside

Evening:Edit over an early dinner, then one last sunset because you physically cannot skip it.

      Dinner:Beignets & Brew

Insider Tip:The emerald gradient reads best from elevation. Bridge walkways, pier ends, zip towers, and helicopters are your tripods here.
