    Your day-by-day plan

    1. 1

      Beach Day, The Classic Way

Morning:Breakfast at The Donut Hole. Go early, because the line is part of the fun, and get a box for the condo too. Then set up at Henderson Beach State Park: gentle entry, boardwalks, restrooms, and a playground for when the sandcastle economy collapses.

      Breakfast & coffee:Dawn's Cafe

Afternoon:Lunch on the sand at Pompano Joe's in Miramar Beach, then back to the condo for naps and pool time.

      Lunch:Brothers Kitchen

Evening:Dinner at Fudpucker's, where kids get Gator Beach (the free alligator park downstairs) and can feed a gator from a cane pole. Ice cream nightcap at Shake's Frozen Custard.

Family fun:Emerald Coast Mirror Maze & Laser Craze

Insider Tip:Check the beach flag color before anyone touches the water. Double red means the Gulf is closed, so pivot to the pool, no debate.

    2. 2

      Crab Island Morning

Morning:Quick breakfast at The Pancakery, then a morning pontoon rental or the Crab Island Shuttle Boat out to the famous sandbar. Mornings bring the calmest water and the fewest boats. Expect waist-deep water, floats, and food boats cruising by (BBQ, ice cream, even a Chick-fil-A boat on peak days), though vendors are never guaranteed, so pack a cooler.

      Breakfast & coffee:The Coffee Shop

Afternoon:Back at the dock by early afternoon. Nap window, then easy fun at The Track, where kiddie rides and the Fat Daddy's arcade beat the afternoon heat.

      Family fun:Funland Arcade

Evening:Dinner at The Crab Trap at James Lee Park. Kids dig in the sand steps from your table while you finish your grouper. Stay for sunset right there.

      Dinner:Beachside Burger Company

Insider Tip:Life jackets stay on the littles the entire time at Crab Island. It's a sandbar surrounded by real boat channels: beautiful, but treat it like a pool with traffic.

    3. 3

      Sea Creatures & Harbor Night

Morning:Another Broken Egg Cafe, then the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park on Okaloosa Island for dolphin and sea lion shows, stingray touch pools, and penguins. Two to three hours is the sweet spot.

      On the water:Marina Cafe

Afternoon:Lunch at LuLu's Destin, which has a giant playground and the best allergy-menu system on the coast if you need it. Low-key beach or pool hour after.

      Lunch:Berries & Cream FWB

Evening:HarborWalk Village finale: watch the charter boats unload the day's catch, ride the a harbor pirate cruise if energy allows, then dinner at AJ's Seafood & Oyster Bar and fudge from Kilwins. The zip line across the harbor works for older kids. In summer, time it for a fireworks night over the harbor.

Fishing charter:Reel ‘Em In Fresh Seafood and Gourmet of Seacrest located in Peddler's Pavilion on 30A

Insider Tip:The daily catch hang on the harbor docks around 3:30-5:00 pm is free entertainment. Kids are mesmerized by the giant fish.

    Swap-ins & backups

Rain? The Gulfarium still mostly works, or pivot to the Emerald Coast Science Center plus City Food Hall. Toddler too little for the pirate ship? The Hannah Marie glass-bottom dolphin cruise is calmer.
